Meet our Pastor

Pastor Reginald Arvie

Pastor Reginald Arvie Sr. is the husband to the lovely Lady Alisha Arvie, father to four wonderful children, Reginald Arvie Jr., Alijah Joel Arvie, Gabrielle Faith Arvie, and Silas Paul Arvie. He is an excellent example of a Godly leader in his home as well as in the Kingdom of GOD. Pastor Arvie is a faithful believer in the words, "My family is my ministry".

Pastor Arvie was called by God into the gospel preaching ministry in September of 1998 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Opelousas, La. where his father remains pastor. Pastor Arvie is an anointed man of GOD who is gifted in many facets of ministry. As a skilled musician and songwriter, he has written, produced & co-produced songs and music for various gospel artists.

Pastor Arvie became the senior pastor of St. James Baptist Church of Bayou Chicot, LA, on October 31, 2009. The historic St. James Baptist Church founded in 1812, is the oldest African American Baptist Church in the state of Louisiana. He is a graduate of Caskey School of Divinity at Louisiana College with an Associate's degree in Pastoral ministry. He is currently enrolled at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia attaining a Masters degree in Religion and Biblical Studies.

Pastor Arvie is also a GOD led Church Planter, as well as Spiritual & Bereavement Counselor for Harbor Hospice. His miscellaneous qualities include entrepreneurship, administrative leadership, and overall, a man whose heart, life, and soul belongs to GOD!!!

Lady Alisha Arvie

Alisha Arvie is the fragrance of St. James Baptist Church. She is known for her beautiful smile and loving character. Many consider her a "Silent Bomb." She doesn't say much but when God uses her, it is a guaranteed word from him. Alisha covers our church without limits or hesitation. She is not a traditional Pastor's wife. Alisha exemplifies our mission statement. She's passionate in her worship!

Alisha is known for her dynamic movement in the Women's Ministry. She successfully host our Ladies Night. This event pours into women and leave them feeling empowered.

Above all, she is a proud wife of our Pastor Reginald Arvie. Alisha is the proud mother of four wonderful children. She is an exceptional example of a godly woman!
